Celebrate the beginning of summer with Strawberry Fest!

Strawberry Fest is a family festival that features a downtown art/craft fair with more than 100 vendors from across the Midwest, strawberry shortcake, a children’s costume contest, live entertainment, great food and more.  Strawberry Fest is a great way to celebrate the beginning of summer!

Volunteer Opportunities

We are currently seeking volunteers for Strawberry Fest 2015 on Saturday, June 20. To recognize volunteers, a donation will be made to the volunteer’s chosen non-profit organization based on their total hours worked.  Our event volunteers are managed through VolunteerSpot. Saturday, June 18, 2016
9am – 4pm Events:

  • Taste of Waupaca in Strawberry Lane Café from 9am-4pm
  • Arts & Craft Show – Artisans from across the Midwest from 9am-4pm
  • Entertainment on the historic band stand in City Square – TBA
  • All Berry Booth – Fresh strawberries for sale from 10am until gone.
  • Trivia contest – Answer strawberry trivia for a chance at a $50 Waupaca Area Chamber Gift Certificate.  9 AM – 4 PM.  Fulton Street
  • Shortcake Tent – Serving strawberry shortcake $2.00/person from 9am- until it’s gone!
  • Model Railroad Show – Located in the Waupaca Recreation Center from 10 am – 4 pm.
  • Waupaca Railroad Depot Open House – Oak Street, north of Waupaca
  • Holly History Center – Open 9am-Noon
  • Strawberry Shortcake Eating Contest – 12 noon near the Strawberry Shortcake tent on Fulton Street.  See Waupaca folks eat Strawberry Shortcake in a contest – the winner gets to donate at least $500 to the charity of his or her choice!
  • Strawberry Activities at Turner’s Farm Market – Kids berry smile photo contest, barrel train rides, farm tours and chocolate covered berries.
  • Kids Alley – Activities in Rotary Riverview Park behind Main Street. Dizzy D Clown from 9 am – 3 pm, Waupaca Walks For Children 9am; and much, much more.
  • Lil’ Strawberry Sally & Sam Costume Contest – 11:00 am in Kid’s Alley.  All girls & boys 2-5 years old are invited to enter!  $50 savings bond awarded to Strawberry Sally & Sam; prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place; goodie bags for all participants.  Sponsored by First State Bank and Sunny Day Child Care & Preschool, Inc.  Entry Form.
  • Waupaca Chain Skier’s Duck Race – 2:30 pm in Waupaca River/Rotary Riverview Park. Proceeds benefit Waupaca Chain Skiers Water Ski Club.
  • Ice Cream Sundaes – Noon – 4:00 pm Main Street in Rural by the Rural Historical Society.
  • Strawberries at the Raspberry Connection – King Road, strawberries and other seasonal produce available.
  • Chain Skiers Water Ski Show – 6:00 pm Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.
